Some times we may unexpectedly see a page saying "To use this site you must be running Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or later." especially when you are on Linux, visiting product related site like Windows to download some files.
I unexpectedly met this page(see screenshot below), when I was tring to download "WindowsUpdateAgent3.exe" from Microsoft website. As I was trying to install Windows Live Writer in Virtualbox.
Usually you have to boot into Windows to download that file, but with the User Agent Switcher you can immediately trick the site that you are using Internet Explorer 5 or 6, and can download file without even closing your Linux browser.

Some people don't always use Windows and especially Internet Explorer for browsing. So User Agent Switcher will trick the sites that allow only IE. User Agent Switcher has user agent scripts of Internet Explorer 7, Netscape 4.8, Opera 9.25 on Windows Vista and some mobile devices (you can visit mobile sites in your browser). If you need more user agents download this xml file and import to User Agent Switcher.
Q: What are the other uses of User Agent Switcher?
A. 1. You don't have to use IE all the time to visit your online banking site, school and college site.
2. Can access Hotmail account in Linux OS without any troubles.
3. Can be used to check how websites perform on different browsers.
Tip: To check if User Agent Switcher addon works or not, visit mybrowserinfo.com, you will see a report of your browser user agent.
